Where It All Began
In 1998, in the heart of Banaras, a small shop opened its doors in Kachauri Gali — one of the most famous food lanes of Varanasi, where the smell of freshly made snacks has filled the air for generations.
For centuries, Banaras has been known not only for its spirituality and culture, but also for its rich culinary heritage. From the bustling galis and the warmth of evening chai to the timeless flavours passed down through generations, food has always been a part of the city's identity.
Methiram's was born from a simple belief—to preserve the authentic taste of traditional Indian snacks exactly as they were meant to be enjoyed. Crafted with family recipes, quality ingredients, and time-honoured methods, every snack reflects the heritage of Banaras and the trust we have built since 1998.
That small shop became Methiram's. The taste remains unchanged..

What makes Methiram's different from every other snack brand you've tried? We never changed.
While the packaged food industry moved towards mass production, artificial flavours, and longer shelf lives, Methiram's stayed exactly where it started — in Kachauri Gali, Varanasi, making namkeen the traditional way.
Our signature Methi Mathari is made today with the same recipe it was made with in 1998. So is our Banarasi Papad, slow-made and perfectly spiced. So is our Banarasi Achaar, crafted without artificial preservatives. Every product. Every batch. Every time."
